Giving in Your Own Backyard
Kathleen Crowley is passionate about community.
"Giving in your own backyard is the best," she says. "Whether it's a school, a sport or a nonprofit—look in your backyard first."
A native Arizonan, Kathleen personifies the concept of giving back. She is a respected wealth advisor who advocates for Sun City seniors' fiscal and personal health. She also donates to the Sun Health Foundation, including support of the new Del E. Webb Medical Center Progressive Care Unit with a gift as part of the Buy a Bed campaign. Kathleen has served on the Foundation's board of directors since 1998.
"My family has a history of Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, so when Banner Sun Health Research Institute began focusing on these diseases, it became very close to my heart," she says. "To watch it become what it is today is really exciting."
Kathleen feels that advocating for senior health care in Sun City is critical to her clients' well-being. She recommends the Sun Health Foundation to clients who are interested in supporting health care causes because she knows and trusts the inner workings of the organization.
"The Foundation communicates well, and the people are passionate about what they do," she says. "Health care is very important to our community. Our residents, because they are retired, like knowing there are doctors who specialize in working with the elderly."
When asked why it's so important to give back, Kathleen's priorities are clear.
"You give back because it will help your neighbor. Our community is driven by this, and it shows," she says.
